PRESS RELEASE
Metalwork LLC is planning to open a unified service center for Russian industrial manufacturers in Nigeria.
Last week, the Russian company Metalwork LLC had a trade mission in Nigeria dedicated to its plans of opening a service center in the Lekki Free Zone (Lagos State) for Russian industrial manufacturers that supply production equipment to Nigeria.
The ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Russia, Abdullahi Shehu, together with representatives of Metalwork, Ivan Klevtsov, CEO, the business community of the Nigerian diaspora in Russia (NIDO Russia), as well as the deputy head of the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry NACCIMA and the head of the Nigerian-Russian Business Council, Prince Kayode, visited the Ministry of Trade and Investment Industry of Nigeria. As part of the official meeting, the delegates discussed with the Minister of Otunda Niyi Adebayo the problems of lack of technical service and delays in the supply of Russian industrial equipment, which are the main reasons for the difficulty in entering the African and Latin American markets for Russian manufacturers.

Further, a delegation consisting of Abdullahi Shehu, Ivan Klevtsov (Metalwork) and head of the business community of Sampson Uwem-Edimo Friday (NIDO), visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, where the working meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs cases Jeffrey Oneyama took part. During the dialogue between the departments and business, the head of Metalwork, Ivan Klevtsov, announced the creation of a plan to open a joint service center in Nigeria for Russian manufacturers that sell industrial equipment to Nigeria. Ivan Klevtsov emphasized, “Such a service center will become a necessary business link between countries, which will modernize the maintenance of industrial, energy, electronic equipment and IT products in Nigeria. As at the moment the equipment supplies are taking unreasonably long time, and its maintenance is extremely ineffective."

After that, the trade mission from Russia visited the Lekki free economic zone, where a memorandum was signed on Metalwork's investments in the Lekki free trade zone and the opening of a technical support center for Russian companies that sell technical equipment to Nigeria.

In addition to the listed protocol events, the Russian trade mission conducted a number of informal meetings with the leadership of the Nigerian aggregator of federal gas and gas infrastructure supplies, as well as with representatives of the NIDO business community in Nigeria. Also, the Metalwork delegation participated in the conference on the development of trade relations between Nigeria and Russia in Abuja and in a business event organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce.

During the trade mission, Ivan Klevtsov claimed, “When Russian companies work with African countries and take care of their own equipment using Russian specialists and their expertise, meanwhile training local personnel, then the usage of the equipment will certainly be easier. In modern business, it is not enough just to sell; it is necessary to sell and provide service. This is the “last mile” of service that Russian companies need in the Nigerian market."
